On December 9th, 2015, in Philadelphia, a pig's head was thrown on the door of a mosque.
In California, one woman came upon a group of Muslim men praying, calling them terrorists and berating them. This resulted in her
throwing hot coffee in one of the men's faces.
Andre Carson, one of two Muslims congress men of Indiana, recieved one of a number of
death threats he recieved.
In Richardson, Texas, an anti-Muslim group protested in front of mosques, armed with their guns.
All these events, and several others, occured in the same week.

The research has found that out of Italy, France, Germany. United Kingdom, Canada, and the U.S,
highest percentage of people that do not respect Muslim societies, at 52%. Even those that report no prejudice have an unfavorable view of their religion,
and 92% of those who have prejudice have an unfavorable view of the religion. The greater the prejudice a person has, the more they claim that Muslims
do not want peace and are not accepting of other religions. The root of this disrespect is split between cultural, religious, and political
tensions.
Who are these people holding the most prejudice? They are more likely to be men, have only completed a highschool level of
education, be married, or be a Republican. Americans who are suspect that Muslim Americans are not loyal to the U.S are more likely to view Muslims
worldwide as against the U.S.
60% of Muslim Amercians claim that other Americans are prejudiced against them, and 48% claim to have been discriminated.
Based on this research, it can be seen that there are genuine negative perceptions regarding Muslim Americans that result in seeing Muslims as unloyal, voicing prejudice
and avoiding Muslims. While this Islamaphobia is only held in a portion in the U.S, it is a substantial ammount that is of concern.
