Recommended strategies for engagement: Fight from cover. Use range. Protect the squishies. Don't be afraid to hightail it out of there if you're getting whupped. Don't try to bargain with it (it's not a green dragon). Watch out, black dragons are notorious for wiping a party in the first six seconds of a fight. They use their surroundings for cover, so beware of the environment. Their can breathe in water, make water unable to support life, charm reptiles, and breathe acid. Once these dragons reach the young adult age, they become so frightening that their mere presence is enough to make even the most rage-filled barbarian turn tail and run. Black dragons are also able to create magical darkness, grow plants, and conjure a plague of hostile insects. Cut off a lock of your hair and give it to a rich, sympathetic holy man from the nearest town. If you die, there's a slim chance someone might take pity on you and ressurect you. Don't count on it.
