Writing Assignments

Unlike web page tasks, which are graded with a detailed rubric, these writing assignments, which total only 10% of your grade, will be graded on a 0 (=F) to 2 (=A) scale, based on whether you have completed the assignments. Writing assignments with multiple spelling or grammar mistakes may face a small deduction.
First Writing Assignment. Due March 16 at 11:59pm.

Choose two aspects of webpages that you think make a poor impression on a user, and choose two aspects of webapges that you think make a good impression on a user. For each aspect, write a paragraph on why think it is good or poor, and give two links to two examples that demonstrate this aspect. (Note, this means I expect four paragraphs and eight links). You may hand this in via a word document, or a webpage. If you choose to do a webpage, you will not be graded on the appearance of the webpage.
Second Writing Assignment. Due March 30 at 11:59pm.

Create for yourself a list of at least 15 favorite style items. No more than three can be the same type and count toward the total of 15 items (if you include more than three font color specifications, only three will count toward your required total of 15, but if you lengthen your total list, this is fine.) The items should be listed as they would appear in a css file, css tag, or in-line style attribute.
Third Writing Assignment. Due April 13 at 11:59pm.

How do blind people surf the web? Write a one-page (300-500 word) summary of how the blind access the web and describe at least two specific accomodations web designers should consider when designing their site to make it friendlier for the vision impaired. Please include a list of works cited... web pages are fine sources in this case.
