Welcome to...
BRYN ATHYN COLLEGE MYSTERY ADVENTURE.
Have a good adventure! :)
Hunger: 20
Exhaustion: 5
Tiredness: 20
It is the day before graduation.
"
!!"
You are at the The Fountain outside of The Brickman Center when you see Thane Glenn running toward you, shouting your name.
"You're just the person I wanted to see," says Thane, out of breath. "Something TERRIBLE has happened! ALL of the dishes from the dinning hall are GONE!
"You mean, they've been stolen?!" you ask.
"THEY'VE ALL BEEN STOLEN!" cries Thane.
"Shenanigans!" you mutter under your breath.
"Yes, shenanigans," Thane agrees.
"Who did it?" you ask.
"I DON'T KNOW," says Thane excitedly as he chasses from side to side. "I think it's a... a..."
"a....?!?"
"a... BRYN ATHYN COLLEGE MYSTERY."
"I will solve said BAC mystery," you declare. "I am up for the adventure!"
Suddenly, Thane stops bouncing. "What is it, Thane?" you ask worriedly.
"Oh, I just remembered I left cookies in the oven back home, that's all," Thane replies, bouncing again.
"By the way, I thought you might need this during your adventure." He hands you a CD of meditation music.
"Brilliant, thanks."
Now the question is, where do you go from here?
P.S. remember to keep your hunger, tiredness, and exhaustion in check! Don't let those levels get above 50, or else you'll run into problems and have to abort the mission!"
The Fountain gurgles away, a perfect image of serenity and truth springing forth.
What do you want to do?
You're at the "Terrace" a.k.a "The Bean" now. You take a moment to smell the fresh air. Then you remember that you have work to do.
You can go just about anywhere from here!
You enter the Great Hall.
Students are discussing the missing dishes in hushed voices.
"I heard that it was a teacher!" you hear one of them say.
"No way. I bet it was a trick played on us by one of the hockey teams we beat this winter!" posits another.
Glancing around, you notice that Dean Rogers is looking rather worried.
"Hi, . Thane tells me that you're on the team helping to solve the mystery! That's wonderful.
I lost my master-key on campus, and I'm worried that whoever stole the dishes might have used it to hide the dishes somewhere on the campus.
Let me know if you find the key, and good luck solving the mystery!
You're quietly enter the library. Many students are studying.
Any of them could be behind the heist in your estimation, but they look to be pretty innocent. Hmmm...
You've made it into the archives.
Now what do you think was the clue Thane caught wind of?
As you descend the stairs into the Dinning Hall, you hear the sounds of squeeky plastic silverware on styrofoam plates.
Approaching the servery, you see your favorite chef Jim looking distraught.
"It's tough without dishes, huh JimPat?" you say.
"That's not all," says Jim. "I had the talapia for today's lunch defrosting on some plates, and when the plates were stolen, all of the fish was thrown
into the garbage...
I was going to make my talapia special to go with this divine chickpea chili I made,
but I can't feed people if I have no fish to season and cook to perfection!"
"That is super rough," you say, "I can't help you right now, but I'll try to think up a creative solution."
You are in the Penn Hall commons. There you see Mr. Frazier.
"This dishes-disaster has me recalling a certain fascinating historical anecdote as well as pondering food and its uses;
As a result, I have gone off on a wild tangent and taken an oddly long moment
out of my very busy schedule to stop here and ponder what my wife and I should cook for dinner tonight.
We're experimenting with a Central American / Southeast Asian vegan fusion diet with heavy emphasis on legume consumption. Got any ideas?"
You're enter the Doering Center and take a look around.
One of your friends spots you and rushes over.
"Hey , have you seen my bio textbook? I need it so I can give a presentation my next class!"
You notice some friendly people playing volleyball on the sand court.
You ask if they know anything about the dishes. They say they saw a few stray mugs in the suites, but not ALL of the dishes.
They invite you to join, but you're feeling pretty shy.
"C'mon, , it'll be fun! Plus, we need one more person to have even teams.
You've made it to Glencairn. Nothing seems out of the ordinary here. Beautiful as usual!
It is nightfall now, and no one answers when you bang on the door to Glencairn.
Having watched hours of Assassin's Creed, you effortlessly scale the Glencairn tower.
Out of breath, you finally reach the tower balcony. All of the dishes are in great piles, their primary color glory dimly shining in the moonlight.
A voice comes from the darkness. "I wondered if anyone would come to join me."
Kiron steps out from the shadows! "Kiron?! what are you doing here?! Did you write that note that was in my mailbox? Are you the one who stole the dishes?!"
"Indeed, I am," says Kiron. "And I am up here to dump them all off of the tower and smash them tomorrow morning after graduation!"
"Why on earth would you do that?" you say, clutching the balcony railing as a windy rain begins. "Where is the Kiron I knew?"
Tears begin to well in Kiron's eyes, and suddenly, he breaks out sobbing. "I JUST WANTED PEOPLE TO BE HAPPY ON GRADUATION DAY!" he moans.
"And what does that have to do with smashing dishes off the Glencairn tower?" you ask.
"Well..." says Kiron, frowning and sniffling while trying to regain composure.
"Everyone always claps and cheers when someone breaks a dish in the Dining Hall."
"I just wanted people to be happy, to clap and cheer on graduation day."
"Ah buddy, come here." You give Kiron a big hug, and you give him the disc of meditation music as well. "This might help you out, buddy!"
